Intern, Cell Biology (INCB-422)

Ambit Biosciences is engaged in the discovery and development of small-molecule kinase inhibitors for the treatment of cancer. With more than 500 distinct kinases identified and over 30 kinase inhibitors in clinical trials or FDA approved, this important class of proteins is a rich area for therapeutic drug development.

We have a part-time intern opportunity to join our Cell Biology team.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare aliquots of frequently used reagents. (i.e. Penicillin/Streptomycin, Lysis Buffer, FBS, DMSO, Nocodazole)
  • Stock Tissue Culture Room with commonly used supplies and consumables
  • Prepare cell media.
  • Inventory Control of reagents, chemicals and supplies using proper labeling and computerized transactions. Periodic cleaning and maintenance of:
    • Water Baths
    • Refrigerators
    • Incubators
    • Biological Hoods
    • Centrifuges
  • Routine testing and calibration of some lab equipment.
  • Inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Being able to lift up to 25-30lbs

Candidate must have a high-school diploma and be actively pursuing a B.S. degree in cell biology, biology, or closely related discipline. Qualified candidate will be highly a motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
